Man Accused Of Falsely Imprisoning, Assaulting Minor

A Cumberland County man, Angel Antonio Rios Rivera, is facing serious charges after allegedly assaulting and falsely imprisoning a minor in Lower Allen Township, Pennsylvania. According to the Lower Allen Township Police, the incident occurred in October 2024 when they received a ChildLine referral reporting a sexual assault. Police allege that Rios Rivera, aged 60, pinned a child against a wall in a laundry room and forcibly touched them.

The victim reported the incident to an adult, who then confronted Rios Rivera. During this confrontation, the adult obtained a recorded apology from Rios Rivera, in which he expressed regret and promised not to repeat his actions. The police investigation led to charges against Rios Rivera, including false imprisonment of a minor, corruption of minors, unlawful contact with a minor, and indecent assault.

Rios Rivera was arrested on Wednesday (March 19) and is currently being held in the Cumberland County Prison with bail set at $25,000. The case highlights ongoing concerns about child safety and the importance of reporting such incidents to authorities. As the legal proceedings continue, the community remains attentive to the developments in this case.
