Nonprofit Announces Layoffs Due To Federal Funding Freeze

(Lancaster, PA) -- A global non-profit is furloughing employees in Lancaster due to the federal funding freeze ordered by President Trump. Church World Service says 65 employees at its office on East King Street are being furloughed between now and the end of March. The organization aims to help refugees and immigrants settle in the U.S. It was primarily funded by the Department of State until Trump's executive order suspending the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program.
