CBS 21 issues Weather Warn Day for Thursday morning's freezing rain and tricky commute

SNOW SHOWERS TODAY:

Clouds will take over today with a narrow band of, "frontogenesis" snow developing out ahead of tomorrow's storm. Isolated spots could see a quick coating of snow while others just stay dry and cloudy.

TOMORROW *WEATHER WARN DAY* FOR ICE:

A Nasty storm will develop overnight tonight into tomorrow bringing the threat for icy conditions. A period of freezing rain and or/sleet will move in for the Thursday morning commute. As a result, Thursday morning travel will be tricky. The ice will changeover to rain later on Thursday before ending. Because of the icy threat Thursday morning, the CBS 21 First Warning Weather team has declared Thursday a Weather Warn Day.

Turnpike Tier 4 Restrictions Planned Due To Winter Storm

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Penn-DOT is planning to place Tier Four restrictions on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in the area due to the winter weather in the forecast. The department says the restrictions will go into effect at seven p.m. tonight. Under Tier Four restrictions, no commercial vehicles, buses, motorcycles, or passenger vehicles towing trailers are allowed on the road. Penn-DOT says the roads will be pretreated, but drivers are still urged to use caution in freezing condition
