Weekend Forecast: Snow & Rain Expected with Warmer Temps

FROM CBS21 METEOROLOGIST STEVE KNIGHT

A LITTLE WARMER:

After a few early flurries, look for clearing skies this afternoon and it will be warmer with a high near 40 degrees.

SATURDAY CLOUDS:

Another system heads our way tomorrow which bring us a light mix of rain and snow showers. Highs tomorrow will be around 40 so any travel impacts will be minor.

SUNDAY SNOW/WEATHER WATCH DAY:

We can expect snow to arrive from the south around midday on Sunday and continue until about 9pm. At this point accumulations are likely with most spots seeing about 2-4". The center of the storm will be to our South, so the heaviest amounts in our area will be mainly south of Route 30 with lesser amounts to the north and west. We are still fine tuning the details, but at this point plan for a plowable snow event on Sunday. And yes, Eagles fans.. this does mean snow will be falling during the playoff game vs the Rams on Sunday afternoon.

BITTER COLD:

Monday through Wednesday will be FRIGID. Highs on Tuesday will only be in the Teens with single digit lows overnight. Temperatures will remain cold all week. Make sure your heater is working to the best of its ability.

CBS 21 FIRST WARNING WEATHER FORECAST:

Today: Mostly Sunny: High 40

Tonight: Partly Cloudy: Low 20

Tomorrow: Cloudy, Light Rain and Showers: High 42

Sunday: Cloudy, Afternoon and Evening Snow: High 34
