Two Arrested For Church Burglaries, Swastikas Drawn At Target

Two individuals, Trystan Zimmerman, 25, and Sophia Brandt, 19, have been arrested in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, for allegedly burglarizing multiple local churches and drawing swastikas on items inside a Target store. The pair are accused of causing over $2,000 worth of damage at the South Middleton Township Target, where they used a black marker to draw swastikas and vulgarities on various items, including children's toys and electronics, according to a news release by State Police.

In addition to the vandalism at Target, Zimmerman and Brandt are also accused of breaking into three churches in South Middletown Township and Monroe Township and stealing money. During one of the burglaries, they reportedly used a fire axe to break into a church but were unsuccessful in stealing anything.

The duo face charges including burglary, institutional vandalism, attempted theft, and criminal mischief for the church burglaries. They also face charges of ethnic intimidation, criminal mischief, and disorderly conduct for the incident at Target. They are currently being arraigned at Cumberland County Prison. State Police believe that both Zimmerman and Brandt are connected to other crimes between Carlisle and Annville. Anyone with information is asked to contact PSP Carlisle at 717-249-2121.
