Officials: Leaving Car, Truck Running, Unattended Is Illegal

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Harrisburg Police would like to remind residents that leaving your car or truck running or unattended is both dangerous and illegal. The Harrisburg Police will begin to enforce both ordinances in order to curb the number of stolen cars and trucks.. Officers will be issuing warnings, but drivers, especially repeat offenders, would be subject to fines and court cost up to a thousand dollars. Police also say starting your vehicle with a remote starter doesn't constitute leaving your vehicle running and unattended, as written in the law.
