(Lancaster, PA) -- The chief of the Lancaster City Police Department is resigning. Chief John Bey served in the role for 18 months. Bey also spent 25 years with Pennsylvania State Police and served with the U.S. Air Force Reserves and Pennsylvania National Guard. He says it's time to celebrate his accomplishments. Lancaster's mayor has appointed Captain Richard Mendez as Acting Chief and plans to recommend him as the department's permanent leader.
