(Harrisburg, PA) -- The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board says total gaming revenue generated this January was over 390-million-dollars, a 26-percent increase from the same time last year. Roughly 108-million of that revenue is from interactive, or online gaming. With Pennsylvanians gambling online more now than ever, officials are promoting treatment services. Josh Ercol with the Council on Compulsive Gambling of PA says the rapid expansion with new gambling technology has also contributed to the dilemma, especially over the past two years when many people were unable to head to the casino. It's estimated that up to four-percent of the population will develop a gambling disorder at some point in their lives, according to the officials.
