(Lebanon, PA) -- A 13-year-old boy who was killed Tuesday in a shooting in South Lebanon township has been described as a child who was respectful and stayed out of trouble. Lebanon County District Attorney Pier Hess Graf also said Jason Rivera was a 'good kid' at a Thursday morning news conference asking for the public's help in solving the case. She also says the shooting was not a random act of violence and that details about the manner of the boy's death are not being released at the request of the family. Rivera was a seventh grader at Lebanon Middle School.

(Reading, PA) -- A jury has been seated in a murder trial for two men who are alleged to have killed Brock Neely nearly eight years ago in Reading. Arguments now are underway in the murder trial of Armando Ortega and Eliezer Carrasquillo. A third man, Xavier Carrasquillo, was also charged, but his charges were dismissed in November of last year. Police said Ortega allegedly fired 15 shots during a fight in an alleyway in the 200 block of South 11th Street in June of 2014. Neely was 27 when he died in the hospital.

(Shrewsbury, PA) -- Some residents in the Southern York County School District want to revisit removing the Susquehannock Warriors logo from school images. Several members of the community spoke at the board meeting Thursday night to say they'd like to see the image of the Native American warrior reinstated. They say it's a symbol of pride that honors and symbolizes Native Americans. Others say the name of the high school mascot, along with the imagery, should be changed altogether. Meanwhile, Scott Cousins, the legal counsel for the Native American Guardianship Association, expressed his organization's support for the Warriors logo, saying that it isn't offensive to American Indians. He says, in fact, that many are worried that public schools will soon forget the history of the local Native American tribes.

(Palmyra, PA) -- Police in Lebanon County have arrested a man for causing a disturbance at the Wendy's in Palmyra Borough. It happened Monday afternoon when diners told police Ernest Brannon entered the Wendy's screaming at the staff and banging on the windows, then eventually went outside. Authorities say Brannon continued to scream while officers tried to de-escalate the situation. He has been charged with disorderly conduct. It's not known exactly what caused his original beef with the restaurant.

Public health officials announced earlier this week that proof of vaccination is no longer required effective immediately, but a mask mandate would remain in place. The city's health commissioner said the move comes after daily COVID cases dropped from 500 to below 200 in the past week.
