>>Student Tasered by School Resources Officer During Lunchtime Fight

(Middletown, PA) -- Lower Swatara Police are handling the aftermath of an incident at Middletown Area High School in which a student was tasered by a school resources officer. It happened Wednesday as a fight broke out during a lunch period. The district has confirmed that the officer used a taser on one student, but Superintendent Dr. Chelton Hunter, says the images of the fight circulating on social media don't represent the school's values. Dr. Hunter's statement didn't reveal the status of the students involved in the three-minute fight, or whether the SRO is on administrative leave. 

>>Puppy, $20K in Cash Taken from Home in Lebanon County

(Myerstown, PA) -- State police say an English Bulldog puppy and about $20,000 dollars in cash have been taken in two separate burglaries at a Myerstown home. The puppy, which is "merle-colored," was worth about five-thousand dollars. The money was taken in the first burglary last Tuesday from the home on Stracks Dam Road. It was in a plastic bag under a mattress. The thieves returned to the home the next day and took the three-month-old female puppy. An investigation is underway. Anyone with information about these burglaries or the puppy is asked to contact PSP.

(Chambersburg, PA) -- A family of two adults and two children are being helped by the Red Cross after their Chambersburg home has been deemed a total loss. A fireman who worked the blaze is also recovering after falling through a staircase at the scene. Heavy flames and smoke were coming out of the house on Sandy Mount Road Thursday morning when members of the Pleasant Hall Volunteer Fire Company got there around 9:30 a.m. West End Fire and Rescue Chief James White released a statement saying the firefighter did go to the hospital for minor injuries but is expected to be okay. The family was able to get out of the structure unharmed.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Pediatricians at Penn State Health say they're seeing a lot of respiratory-involved illnesses in children. Not only is there a rise in COVID cases, but they're also diagnosing many instances of regular colds, infections of the respiratory track, strep throat and bronchitis. Doctors say it's that time of year where people are mostly together inside, so the spread of these kinds of illness can be quick. Many can be transferred with just a sneeze. 

>>Harrisburg Man Gets At Least 20 Years For Wife's Shooting Death

 (Harrisburg, PA) -- A Harrisburg man has been sentenced to up to 40 years in prison for the shooting death of his wife in October of 2020. The Dauphin County District Attorney's Office says Dallas Haley plead guilty to third-degree murder and will serve time in a State Correctional Facility for the domestic incident. The shooting happened in the Haleys' home on Rumson Drive in Harrisburg, where Haley lived with his wife, Kyra, and several young children. He won't be eligible for parole until 2040.

>>Man Convicted of Beating, Shooting Victim Leaving Him to Die in A Cornfield

(Lancaster County, PA) -- A 34-year-old county man has been convicted of attempted homicide in a case where prosecutors say he beat and shot his victim and left him to die in a cornfield. The district attorney's office says Robert Sheets of Quarryville, was found guilty after a three-day trial earlier this month. Sheets shot a man in the chest in August 2017 in a wooded area and left him there. Prosecutors he returned the next day and shot the man in the head when he realized he was still alive. Sheets also hit the man in the head and neck with a hatchet before leaving him for dead a second time. The victim crawled for help and survived. Prosecutors said Sheets remains in Lancaster County Prison and will be sentenced later.

>>Lebanon Man Pleads Guilty to Cruelty in Cutting off Dogs' Ears

(Lebanon, PA) -- The Pennsylvania SPCA says a Lebanon man has pleaded guilty to 16 counts of animal cruelty. Steven Alston was sentenced to six to 23 months in prison, followed by two years of probation for cutting the ears off seven puppies with scissors without anesthesia. The SPCA says he prolonged the suffering of the German Shepherds, resulting in the deaths of three dogs who died from untreated injuries. Thirty-four dogs were removed from Alston's property. All living animals that were rescued made full recoveries and were placed in homes. 

>>Artwork approved for Lancaster's Ewell Plaza Project

(Lancaster, PA) -- Lancaster's Parking Board on Thursday has approved the artwork that will cover the façade of the Ewell Plaza Project. It's titled "The New Lancaster Rainbow" and officials say it will help brighten up the side of the parking garage and enliven the area. At an estimated cost of 33-to-34-million-dollars, the project includes the 325-parking-spot Christian Street Garage, which is scheduled to open in March. The relocated Lancaster Public Library and two retail storefronts are also a part of the Plaza Project.

>>Only Light Snow for Susquehanna Valley from Nor'easter Coming In

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Forecasters say residents of South-Central PA should be in pretty good shape to not feel the effects of the nor'easter that's bearing down on the East Coast. As of early Friday, the National Weather Service says their latest models continue to show the storm heading just far enough to the east so that it only brushes by the area. There should be some snow showers on Friday, but not much accumulation as the high will reach 33 degrees. Winds, however, will be gusty during the day on Saturday. No rain or snow forecast for Sunday.

>>Announcers Finally Getting to Work In-Person Again

(Philadelphia, PA) -- After almost two years of calling road games remotely from the Wells Fargo Center because of Covid-19 protocols, Flyers announcers Jim Jackson and Keith Jones are getting back in the announcing booth in person. Both were back in the booth when the team faced off against the New York Islanders Tuesday night in Long Island. NBC Sports Philadelphia, which has the television broadcast rights to both Flyers and 76ers games, confirmed that Jackson and Jones will travel to road games moving forward with limited exceptions. Those mostly will be due to stricter Covid protocols when the Flyers visit one of the NHL's eight Canadian teams.

>>Two Shot After Grocery Store Disagreement

(Coatesville, PA) -- Two people are recovering from gunshot wounds after a man shot them all because a woman accidentally bumped into him. This all started Wednesday morning at a grocery store in Chester County. She tried to apologize to the man, but he repeatedly threatened to shoot her. Authorities say that 26-year-old Moenell Coleman then followed the woman to her house where he shot her, as well as her brother. Coleman remains on the loose and he has a list of charges waiting for him once he is caught.

>>Young Student Boards Wrong Bus

(Bensalem, PA) -- A Bucks County mother is outraged after her young son got on the wrong bus at dismissal and he got dropped off in another area. This happened in Bensalem to a Kindergarten student on Tuesday afternoon. Police say a good Samaritan found the child wondering by himself and she contacted law enforcement for help. Thankfully, the child was not harmed.
