(Harrisburg, PA) -- Harrisburg Police are investigating a report of shots being fired by John Harris High School. Police say they were dispatched to the 24-hundred block of Market Street near the high school around 3 p.m. yesterday after reports of shots being fired. When officers arrived there weren't many people in the area and only a single shell casing was found. Police say no one was injured and they don't believe anyone was struck at the scene before they arrived. The school will go virtual for today as police continue their investigation.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Harrisburg gas prices are slightly up this week following the storms from the remnants of Hurricane Ida. Over the last week, the average gas price-per-gallon in Harrisburg went up by two cents, averaging at $3.24. Experts say hurricane Ida's disruption to the oil and refining industry in Louisiana likely led to the increase. However, they believe that gas prices will go down to under three-dollars-per-gallon by Halloween as summer comes to an end.

He says officers will remain at all schools and school board meetings indefinitely. No charges have been filed as yet.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- A 1992 murder of a Berks County cab driver remains unsolved after over 29 years and police say they still need tips. Dominic Martorana was stabbed 39 times and had his throat slit when he was found in March 1992. His cab was found about nine hours before his body, with the vehicle found burning in Lower Alsace Township. Pennsylvania Crime Stoppers is offering up to ten-thousand-dollars in reward money for information resulting in an arrest.

(Lancaster, PA) -- The drowning death of a four-month-old baby in a motel bathtub has led to the arrest of the baby's parents. Twenty-seven-year-old David Meadows was arrested Friday and 29-year-old Amy Manning is jailed in Nashville, Tennessee. Police were sent to the Roadway Inn in Paradise Township after the baby drowned. The parents told police they would leave the baby alone in the tub while they got other kids ready for school.

Wolf says last week, we saw the devastating and deadly impacts of climate change as Hurricane Ida swept across our nation, leaving its mark not only on states in the south, but Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey. Wolf wants the federal government to pass the Chesapeake Bay Resilient Farms Initiative, which would provide over half-a-billion-dollars to efforts in the agriculture industry in several states, including Pennsylvania.
>>Woman's Body Found In Carbon County Home's Backyard
(Carbon County, PA) -- Police are launching an investigation after they found a body buried in the backyard of a Carbon County home. Police say they were dispatched to the home in Jim Thorpe on Monday for a welfare check after family members of Laura Spencer told officers they haven't seen her since late July. Police got a search warrant for the home despite homeowner, Peter Davis' refusal to cooperate. Officers learned that Spencer had died and after digging around in the backyard, they found a body. Officials have yet to identify the body, but Davis has been taken into custody for allegedly attempting to assault officers while they investigated. The investigation into the woman's death is ongoing.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- More and more Pennsylvanians are being sent to the hospital with COVID-19. As of yesterday, more than two-thousand Pennsylvanians are hospitalized with the virus. About 496 of them are being treated in intensive care units. State health officials say in less than two months, the number of COVID hospitalizations have risen nearly eight-times, in large part due to the delta variant. They emphasized that getting the vaccine is the best way to protect yourself from serious illness and death from the virus as most of the patients being hospitalized are unvaccinated.

(Undated) -- Pennsylvania Congressman Scott Perry is telling communication companies not to reveal his phone records from January 6th, the day of the insurrection. The select committee investigating the insurrection has only held one hearing so far but is now asking for telecommunication companies to help out in their investigation. Perry and ten other Republicans sent out letters to the companies urging them not to reveal their phone records or online posts from that day.
>>Philly Continues to Welcome Afghan Evacuees
(Philadelphia, PA) -- More and more Afghan evacuees are coming to Philadelphia. City officials report that just over nine-thousand Afghans have arrived at Philadelphia International Airport over the past few weeks. More than five-thousand people came in on Labor Day. Hundreds more were expected to arrive on four flights yesterday. The evacuees will be screened, tested for COVID-19, be given some basic living resources, and transported to a nearby military base.

(East Nottingham Township, PA) -- A Pennsylvania State Trooper is recovering after being hit by a motorcyclist while responding to another accident. This all unfolded early yesterday morning in Chester County while the trooper was wearing a reflective vest. Both the trooper and the bike rider were hospitalized. The motorcycle driver faces several charges related to the incident.
