(Harrisburg, PA) -- A man is recovering at the hospital after he was shot in Harrisburg. The shooting happened Sunday afternoon in the first-block of North 20th Street. Police say the man was transported to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Anyone with any information on the incident is being asked to contact the Harrisburg Police Department.

>>Reading To Host COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic For RSD Students

(Reading, PA) -- Students at Reading School District are being encouraged to get vaccinated at a series of clinics that will be held on the next couple of Fridays. The first one will be held this Friday at the Southwest Middle School Auditorium located along Chestnut Street. Another one will be at the Northwest Middle School Auditorium along Front Street, and the final one will be on July 30th at the Reading High School Geigle Gymnasium located along North 13th Street. All the clinics will run from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

(Reading, PA) -- Reading Hospital is seeing a milestone that could suggest things are starting to get more back to normal. The hospital announced yesterday that it has zero COVID-19 inpatients for the first time in about 17 months. Over 32 hundred COVID-19 inpatients have been treated at the hospital since the beginning of the pandemic. Officials are encouraging people to get a vaccination at the clinic located at one-thousand Tuckerton Road in Muhlenberg Township.

>>Reading City Council Approves $3M Commitment To Upgrade FirstEnergy Stadium

(Reading, PA) -- Reading City Council is continuing its efforts to help keep the Fightin' Phils in the city. The council voted six-to-zero yesterday to commit to using three-million-dollars to help fund the upgrades needed at FirstEnergy Stadium. The MLB is requiring the improvements to the stadium to be done by opening day in 2023. Officials say the total cost for the required upgrades will be about 15-million-dollars. The Berks County Commissioners have also recently announced that the county is pledging three-million-dollars towards the project.

(Lancaster, PA) -- A Lancaster man is behind bars for allegedly punching a police officer in an attempt to elude capture. The incident happened Saturday afternoon when police tried to take Rashawn Melendez into custody at the Lancaster Township Community Park. Police say that as officers approached him, Melendez started fleeing on foot before he turned around and hit an officer in the face. He is being charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, resisting arrest and flight to avoid apprehension.

(Reading, PA) -- A man from Mexico is now behind bars for allegedly selling forgeries of paintings by Berks County-native Keith Haring. The FBI recently arrested Angel Pereda after investigators say he approached a couple of New York auction houses to sell artworks purportedly made by Haring. The Keith Haring Foundation helped authorities bust the scheme as officials determined the artworks offered to the auction houses were not made by the late Reading artist.

(Philadelphia, PA) -- President Biden is visiting Philadelphia today to speak on voter rights. White House officials say expanding access to people across the country to vote is going to be a fight of his presidency. The President is also expected to call out those who continue to claim the 2020 election was rigged. This comes after Governor Tom Wolf's veto against legislation introduced by Republican lawmakers that would have reformed the state's election process. State lawmakers are also calling for an election audit similar to the GOP-led audit in Arizona.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Public schools throughout the state are going to continue offering students free meals this upcoming school year. State Secretary of Education Noe Ortega says this is thanks to the U.S. Department of Agriculture releasing waivers and eligibility guidelines so schools can offer free meals without using federal income guidelines. Ortega encourages K through 12 schools across the state to take advantage of the waivers to ensure that students continue to have access to free, nutritious meals.

(Lehigh, PA) -- The Lehigh Valley IronPigs says they have the first endorsement deal with a college athlete since the NCAA allowed them to accept endorsements. The IronPigs are reportedly paying Lehigh University softball player Carley Barjaktarovich to make an appearance at a game on July 22nd. Officials say she will also work with the team on initiatives including social media and merchandise as the first "IronPigs Athlete." Barjaktarovich says she is honored to be given the opportunity and is excited to represent the IronPigs organization as a collegiate athlete.

>>COVID-19 Protocols Released By Little League

(Williamsport, PA) -- The COVID-19 protocols for the upcoming Little League World Series are posted. Little League officials say they're committed to organizing these events in a safe and responsible manner as only teams from the U.S. will be able to participate. Players and coaches are not required to be vaccinated from COVID, but everyone will be tested upon arrival regardless of vaccination status. If a team reports positive cases and can't field nine players, they will be removed from the tournament. Game attendance will be limited with each team receiving about 250 passes, and unvaccinated individuals are encouraged to wear masks except when eating or drinking.

(Philadelphia, PA) -- Tad Brown has been named the new CEO of the Philadelphia 76ers. Brown comes to the organization from the Houston Rockets where he served in the same role for the last 15 years. The new CEO will replace Scott O'Neil who recently stepped down. Brown will also be overtop of the business operations for the New Jersey Devils.
