(Williamsport, PA) -- The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is considering putting tolls on interstate highways across the state. Three of the nine bridges being considered for this plan are in Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania. Officials say the money generated from these tolls would go to repairs and maintenance for the bridges. The bridges they're eying for this plan includes the Lehigh River Bridge on Interstate-80, the Nescopeck Bridge on I-80 in Luzerne County and the bridge along Interstate-81 in Susquehanna County. If this plan is approved, people heading both directions could be tolled between one and two dollars in 2023.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Travelers in Dauphin County are going to be affected by a new toll for a bridge by PennDOT. PennDOT proposed yesterday a new bill that would add a new toll cost for nine different bridges in the state. One of those bridges is the I-83 John Harris Memorial South Bridge that connects Harrisburg to Cumberland County. The new toll project is expected to cost the state about $500-to-$650-million.
