(Harrisburg, PA) -- Positive COVID-19 cases are on the rise again in Pennsylvania. The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported over 7,500 new cases yesterday. There have now been almost 721,000 cases in the state since the beginning of the pandemic. More than one-hundred people also passed away due to complications of the coronavirus. The state's positivity rate was at 15% last week, staying the same as the last week of December.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Pennsylvania Senator Pat Toomey is joining the call for President Donald Trump to leave office early.
Senator Toomey urged the President to resign yesterday before members of the U.S. House of Representatives introduce articles of impeachment today. Senator Toomey says he believes that President Trump committed impeachable offenses, but doesn't know if it is going to stick on the Senate floor. He believes Trump could face liability charges for his involvement in inciting the riots at the Capitol. Senator Toomey is one of just two Republican senators calling for Trump to resign or face impeachment.

(York, PA) -- Government buildings throughout York County are expected to start reopening today. The York County government announced yesterday that it will be opening most buildings to the public today. The York County Treasurer's Office and the York County Human Services Center will remain closed to the public until at least February 1st. Commissioners are reminding public visitors that masks are required to enter the buildings and social-distancing will be in effect inside. Guthrie Memorial Library in Hanover will also be reopening today for limited browsing and limited computer service time.

(Newberry Township, PA) -- York County Police are investigating the cause of a motorcycle-vehicle accident that left one person dead. The accident happened yesterday afternoon on I-83 in Newberry Township. Police say a motorcyclist was driving at a high-rate of speed before hitting another vehicle. They were pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy will not be scheduled, but a toxicology report was obtained by the county coroner. (West Hanover Twp., PA) -- State police are identifying the three men killed in a crash in West Hanover Township, Dauphin County over the weekend. They say Mackenzie Mulroy, Zachary Kijowski, and Mickael Shovlin will killed when their vehicle lost control Saturday night along the seven-thousand-block of Jonestown Road, hit a curb, and then a tree. Another passenger, Joseph Wilk, is said to still be in critical condition at Penn State Health Hershey Medical Center.

(Susquehanna Twp., PA) -- Investigators are identifying the 31-year-old woman stuck and killed along Interstate 81 in Susquehanna Township early Saturday morning. Sarah Cook of York was hit by a vehicle near the Progress Avenue exit. State police believe whoever hit Cook may be unaware of the crash.
>>Wrightsville Man Facing Charges After High-Speed Pursuit Through Snyder. Union Counties
(Lewisburg, PA) -- A Wrightsville man is facing several charges after a high-speed chase along Routes 11/15 in Snyder and Union counties. Desmond Waltman was reportedly clocked doing 101-miles-per-hour Friday evening near Selinsgrove when State Police attempted to stop him. The 18-year-old was eventually stopped north of Lewisburg and no one was hurt. Waltman is free on $25,000 bail.

(Heidelberg Twp., PA) -- One person is dead after a head-on-crash in Heidelberg Township, Lebanon County Saturday night. It happened on South Fifth Avenue near Duquesne Drive when a southbound vehicle tried to pass using the opposite lane of traffic and struck an oncoming vehicle. The driver of the passing vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene while two people in the other vehicle were taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Governor Tom Wolf is calling for a state Senator who participated in a rally in Washington that preceded the events at the US Capitol to be held accountable. Wolf would go on to say he wasn’t calling for Mastriano’s resignation yet. Mastriano, who was sworn in for his first full term last week, said he and his wife were headed back to their vehicle when the protests entered the Capitol building.

Police say the suspect threatened two females inside the home with knives and refused to let them leave the property. After police arrested the man, they found over 400 grams of marijuana and packaging materials that were used to process and distribute marijuana. The man is being charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, simple assault and unlawful restraint.

(Salisbury Township, PA) -- A man is recovering at the hospital in critical condition after a motorcycle accident in Lancaster County. The wreck happened yesterday on the 71-hundred-block of Route 322 in Salisbury Township. The injured man was airlifted to the hospital. State Police are investigating the cause of the accident.

(Cumru Township, PA) -- Cumru Township Police are searching for two suspects who allegedly robbed an elderly person's apartment. The robbery incident occurred last Tuesday at the County Inn Motel in the 300-block of East Wyomissing Avenue. Police released surveillance pictures of the two suspects yesterday. They say the two men broke into the apartment and forced the victim to stay on a couch while they stole cash from the residence. (Wilkes-Barre, PA) -- Nine people are displaced after a fire ripped through two homes on Saturday morning in Wilkes-Barre. Fire officials say the fire started in a double-block home on the one-hundred-block of Waller Street around noon, and it spread to a single-family home next door. Crews were able to put the flames out before it spread to other homes, leaving no one hurt. The American Red Cross is assisting all of them. Some neighbors say they heard an explosion before the fire started, but fire officials did not find any evidence of an explosion in their ongoing investigation.
