Computer Interaction Institute in Pittsburgh was named yesterday as one of ten winning teams for the U.S. Department of Transportation's Inclusive Design Challenge. The research team won 300-thousand-dollars for their project that makes autonomous vehicles more accessible to people with disabilities. The team will have 18 months to build a prototype for their design, and they could win up to five-million-dollars if their design is selected as the winner of the competition.
