>>Pennsylvania Representative Mike Reese Dead at 42

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Pennsylvania representative Mike Reese is dead at 42 years old. Reese died Saturday afternoon from an apparent brain aneurysm. He was elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 2008 and took office in the 2009-2010 legislative session. Governor Tom Wolf is ordering all commonwealth flags to be flown at half-staff in honor of Reese.

>>Museums in Pennsylvania to Reopen Starting Today

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Museums in Pennsylvania are going to be reopening beginning today. There will be about eleven museums that are going to be open today including the AACA Museum, the Art Association of Harrisburg and The Hershey Story. Despite Governor Wolf's restrictions being lifted today, the museums will still be following COVID-19 safety guidelines such as operating at limited capacity, wearing masks and social distancing.

>>Police Standoff in Lancaster County Ends After One Man Arrested

(Lancaster County, PA) -- One man is behind bars after having a nine-hour standoff with Lancaster County Police. The incident occurred yesterday in the 500 block of Goldfinch Drive in West Hempfield Township. The standoff began around noon and lasted until nine-in-the-evening. Klinesville Road was closed during the standoff from Chickies Hill to Old Chickies Hill Roads, but have since reopened. Police say they arrested one man after the standoff and the investigation is still ongoing.

>>Missing Man in Dauphin County

(Dauphin County, PA) -- State Police are searching for an endangered missing man in Dauphin County. Eighty-six-year-old Harry Mowery was last seen on New Year's Day at his home on Harvestview Road in Elizabethville. Police say he is about 200 pounds and has balding, light-colored hair. Anyone with any information on Mowery's whereabouts is being asked to contact Lykens Pennsylvania State Police Department.

>>PA To Pass On Traditional Pomp-And-Circumstance For Swearing-In Day

(Harrisburg, PA) -- There won’t be the traditional pomp-and-circumstance tomorrow for the state House and Senate’s Swearing-In Day. The event will be closed to visitors and just a limited number of guests will be allowed into the Capitol. There are 30 freshmen in the state House and Senate taking the oath Tuesday.

>>Slippery Conditions Blamed For Sunday Crashes

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Sunday’s slippery conditions are being blamed for several crashes in the Midstate. In Newberry Township, someone hit a utility pole along Kise Mill Road and Sheep Bridge Road which had closed down both lanes of traffic. Part of Route 462 in Springettsbury Township was closed at I-83 for a wreck as well. There’s no word on either of the crashes having injuries.

>>Two Men Arraigned For York County Retail Theft

(York, PA) -- Two men are facing charges for an alleged retail theft at a Kohl’s in York. Daniel Davenport and Torren Carroll are accused of taking over 16-hundred-dollars in merchandise from the retailer at their Town Center Drive location in mid-November. Davenport is facing criminal conspiracy charges.

>>Messiah Lifeways Administers Over 400-COVID-19 Vaccines For Residents, Staff

(Lower Allen Twp., PA) -- Officials with Messiah Lifeways say they’ve vaccinated more than 400 residents and staff members for COVID-19. The Pfizer vaccine they were given will require a second shot on January 23rd. More than 90% of their residents got the first dose of the vaccine last week.

>>Investigators Looking For Whoever Abandoned Dog In Carlisle Dumpster

(Carlisle, PA) -- It is still unclear who abandoned a dog in a Carlisle shopping center dumpster before last month’s winter storm. The one-year-old pit bull was found in the dumpster at Castles Commons on the 200-block of South Spring Garden Street December 17th, after the storm. It’s believed the dog was in there for around ten hours. The pet has since been adopted by a family.

>>Weekend Fire in Reading Kills Two

(Reading, PA) -- Two women are dead after a house fire in Reading. The fire happened Saturday night in the 12-hundred block of Chestnut Street. Two women perished in the flames, but their identities have not been released yet. Their autopsies are expected to be done later today. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

>>Positive COVID-19 Cases Increasing in Lancaster County

(Lancaster, PA) -- Positive COVID-19 cases are rising in Lancaster County. The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported over 200 new cases yesterday. One person also died due to complications of the coronavirus. The total number of COVID-related deaths in the county is over 700.

>>Lancaster County Residents Protesting Presidential Election Results

(Lancaster County, PA) -- Hundreds of Lancaster County residents are protesting the presidential election results. Protestors gathered yesterday near the home of House Majority Leader Bryan Cutler in Quarryville. They were calling for Cutler to decertify the election results while the House goes into session this week. Cutler represents the 100th legislative district of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives and was first elected back in 2006.

>>Berks County Police Looking for Armed Robbery Suspect

(Cumru Township, PA) -- Cumru Township Police are searching for an armed robbery suspect. The robbery happened Friday morning at a Sunoco gas station located on the one-hundred block of Revere Boulevard. Police say the man pointed a black semi-automatic handgun at an employee and demanded money from the cash register. He then fled through Crofts Service Lot at 114 Revere Boulevard. Anyone with any information on the robbery is being asked to contact Crime Alert Berks County.

>>Overnight Fire in Lancaster

(Lancaster, PA) -- Authorities are investigating the cause of a house fire in Lancaster. The fire happened yesterday morning in East Cocalico Township on the first block of Deanne Circle. It took firefighters over two hours to extinguish the flames, but no injuries were reported.

>>COVID-19 Cases Continue To Rise Throughout Pennsylvania

(Harrisburg, PA) -- COVID-19 cases are continuing to rise throughout Pennsylvania. Health officials say over the weekend, the state total saw an increase of more than 21,000 cases, pushing it over 660,000. 

Over thee-hundred new deaths related to the virus were added to the death toll, which is surpassing 16,000. COVID hospitalizations have risen in the last few weeks with over 5,600 patients in the hospital with the virus and nearly 12-hundred of them are in intensive care units.

>>Temporary Shutdown On Indoor Dining, Gyms, Youth Sports Ends Today

(Harrisburg, PA) -- The state's temporary shutdown order for indoor dining, casinos, indoor gyms and youth sports is ending today. Restaurants can reopen indoor dining at 50-percent capacity starting at 8 a.m., but owners must complete an online self-certification process before doing so. Restaurants that have not completed the self-certification process can only operate at 25-percent capacity today. Officials say certification proves a business is committed to protecting employees and providing patrons a safe dining experience. Also, bars and restaurants serving alcohol must end alcohol sales by 11 p.m. and all beverages must be removed from patrons by midnight.

>>Pennsylvania Turnpike Prices Are Up

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Pennsylvania Turnpike prices are up again. During the summer, the Turnpike Commission voted to increase tolls in 2021 and now EZ pass users can expect a 6-percent increase. Tolls are nearly double what they were last year for drivers without the EZ pass who choose the pay by plate option. However, the toll increase will not apply to the part of the turnpike that runs between the Keyser Avenue and Clarks Summit exits in Lackawanna County.
