>>Governor Tom Wolf Tests Positive For COVID-19

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Governor Tom Wolf is now quarantining after testing positive for COVID-19. The governor announced yesterday that he found out he was positive for the virus from a routine test taken on Tuesday. Wolf says he is experiencing no symptoms and is following Department of Health guidelines.

>>Dauphin County Jail COVID-19 Cases

(Dauphin County, PA) -- The Dauphin County Jail is reporting its cases of COVID-19. Jail officials announced yesterday that out of about 950 inmates serving time at the jail, 85 of them tested positive for the coronavirus. Those inmates are being held in an isolation wing. Officials also say about 35 employees have tested positive, but over a dozen of them are expected to go back to work on Monday.

>>York County Government Buildings To Pause Public Access

(York County, PA) -- York County government buildings are going to be suspending public entry. York County Commissioners announced yesterday it will be closing public access to these government buildings during the holiday season from December 21st through January 11th. County operations will still continue. Commissioners say the York County's website has all contact information on it for county departments.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Harrisburg University is adding another big name to its Riverfront Park concert series next year. The university announced yesterday that Portugal. The Man is scheduled to perform at the venue on September 25th of next year. The concert will be the last one in a three-day series that also features Cage the Elephant and Dawes.

>>Middletown Area School District Closes Elementary School

(Middletown, PA) -- Middletown Area School District is going to close one of its elementary schools due to positive COVID-19 tests. The district announced yesterday Kinkel Elementary School is going to be closed starting today. The closure comes after two employees at the school tested positive for COVID-19. The elementary school will be closed for the rest of the week and will be deep-cleaned and sanitized. Students are expected to return on Monday.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- The state Department of Health is announcing 8,703 new COVID-19 cases across Pennsylvania. Yesterday’s announcement included 220 new COVID-19-related deaths, bringing the statewide death toll to 11,762 since the start of the pandemic. Most of the deaths in PA involve people over the age of 65.

(York, PA) -- Officials with the York County Court Administration say a judicial center employee has tested positive for COVID-19. They say there’s no indication the public was exposed to the individual, whose last day worked at the center was December 3rd, at any time. They added the employee adhered to health and safety guidelines, and used PPE.

>>Harrisburg City Council Weighs Cutting Back Number Of Proposed Police Jobs

(Harrisburg, PA) -- A vote could be coming soon that would cut the number of proposed police jobs in Harrisburg. City Council is considering cutting back the number of community service aid positions from 12 to seven, tying one with each city district. The move comes as Mayor Eric Papenfuse works to create their Community Services Division, which would employ a total of 23 people with most being civilians.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- The Harrisburg Senators are staying affiliated with the Washington Nationals. The Double-A baseball club received the affiliate invitation yesterday, extending their partnership that dates back to 1991 when Washington was the Montreal Expos. Senators team president Kevin Kulp says their staff and fan base is anxious for baseball to return to City Island in 2021.

(Berks County, PA) -- Republican Representative Barry Jozwiak is positive for COVID-19. Jozwiak announced yesterday he tested positive and is resting at home. His district office at the Reading Regional Airport in Bern Township is going to stay open during his recovery.

(West Reading, PA) -- The West Reading police chief is accepting another job in Berks County. Chief Stephen Powell announced yesterday he is leaving the West Reading department after serving as top cop for seven years. He is going to be the new deputy chief for the Spring Township Police Department.

(Bern Township, PA) -- Berks Career and Technology Center students are going to be remote-learning for the rest of the week. BCTC officials announced both campuses in Bern Township and Oley Township are going to be closed starting today. The closure comes after six students tested positive for COVID-19. The school plans to return to in-person instruction on Monday.

>>Woman Shot In Reading

(Reading, PA) -- Reading Police are investigating a shooting that led to a two-hour-long standoff. The shooting occurred yesterday afternoon at 519 South Sixth Street. Police say a man shot a woman during a domestic dispute and he locked her in a bedroom. The man had a two-hour-long standoff with police officers before he surrendered. The woman's condition is unknown, and police haven't released the suspect's charges.

>>Lancaster Woman Charged For Arson

(Lancaster County, PA) -- A Lancaster County woman is behind bars after allegedly starting a fire in a duplex building. The incident happened Tuesday in the first-block of West Main Street in Ephrata. Police say a woman started a fire in a metal tray and the flames spread to the wall of a hallway. Firefighters put it out quickly, and no one was reported injured. The woman is being charged for arson.

>>Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association Moving Forward With Winter Sports

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Despite being asked by the Pennsylvania Principals Association to postpone, the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association is moving forward with high school winter sports. However, they did pass new measures to allow for more flexibility this season for schools, meaning they can continue holding regular season games during the postseason. Also, teams that have to cut their seasons short due to the pandemic will still have the opportunity to make the postseason as the PIAA is rescinding the minimum number of games needed to make it. High school winter sports starts this Friday.

>>Teenager Arrested For Intentionally Trying To Spread COVID-19

(Danville, PA) -- A Lancaster teenager is facing charges for intentionally trying to spread COVID-19. Police say after testing positive for the virus, the 16-year-old made threats then started striking, biting, spitting and coughing on staff members at the North Central Secure Building in Danville. She is being charged with harassment for the incident.
