(Harrisburg, PA) -- Four people are facing charges for trying to smuggle cell phones into Dauphin County Prison. Prosecutors say between 2015 and 2016, 42-year-old Danny Cruz and several other inmates began to bribe some corrections officers and other staff to bring the phones into the prison. Investigators also charged Cruz’s mother, 60-year-old Aida Rosado, as well as Lizarah Matthews of York, and Alice Martinez of Chambersburg for the contraband scheme.

(Lower Swatara Twp., PA) -- It is unclear how many people were hurt in a tractor-trailer crash on the P-A Turnpike in Dauphin County Tuesday. The wreck happened in the westbound lanes between the Lebanon-Lancaster and Harrisburg East exits. It was reported that someone was entrapped inside a vehicle involved.

(Carlisle, PA) -- A federal lawsuit is being filed over the handling of a sexual assault case at Dickinson College in Carlisle. Rose McAvoy claims the school is destroying evidence of sexual assault and is ignoring reporting requirements. Despite an agreement the school signed after four days of protests on campus, the suit claims the are continuing to destroy evidence. In a statement from the school, officials say they take sexual assault cases very seriously and that they do more than follow the law. Also, they said they have lived up to the letter and spirit of the agreement they had previously reached.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- State Health Department officials are adding another 854 COVID-19 cases across the Commonwealth. That brings the statewide total to 115-thousand-nine since the start of the pandemic. Tuesday’s announcement also reported 23 deaths related to COVID-19 complications, with the death toll now at 72-hundred-32.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- The state’s secretary of the Department of Education is stepping down to lead Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology. The Lancaster college’s board of trustees voted unanimously Tuesday to appoint Pedro Rivera to become its tenth president. Rivera will take on the roll starting October 1st, succeeding William Griscom who retired in January after 23 years in the role.

(Millersburg, PA) -- State police say a missing man has been found safe in Upper Dauphin County. They had been looking for 31-year-old Jason Mundie from Millersburg since Monday evening. He was reported missing from his 700-block of Union Street home Tuesday. There’s no word on what may have prompted his disappearance.

(Southampton Twp., PA) -- Officials in Southampton Township, Cumberland County say the Stonewall Bridge is going to close for two days next week. Crews will be preparing the bridge for future replacement with geotechnical borings on August 10th and 11th. It’s believed the bridge carries around 750 vehicles over Middle Spring Creek daily.
