>>Midstate Braces For Wintry Blast Wednesday

(Harrisburg, PA) -- The Midstate is bracing for a severe winter storm that’s expected to start around midday tomorrow. PennDOT officials are advising residents that if they don’t have to be out, its best to stay home. Despite their efforts before and during the storm, the weather is expected to create some dangerous conditions.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- PennDOT says they are in a relatively good position to respond to the forecasted winter weather. Pennlive reports that while they fell short on their hiring goals for the season, the department has a surplus of salt to help treat the roads thanks to last year’s mild winter. If the storm does perform to its expectations, PennDOT will likely stay with its policy to prioritize interstates, expressways, and high-volume roads first, according to Pennlive.

>>Inmate Dies At S-C-I Camp Hill

(Camp Hill, PA) -- Department of Corrections officials are reporting that an inmate at S-C-I Camp Hill has died. The inmate was found hanging from the top bunk of his cell during regular rounds Sunday afternoon. Investigators are working to determine the 31-year-old man’s cause of death.

>>Northern York Going Full Virtual Starting Tomorrow

(Dillsburg, PA) -- Administrators with Northern York School District are moving to a full remote-learning setup starting tomorrow. The district announced the move yesterday, saying it will stay in effect until they return from Christmas break on January 4th. In a letter to families, the district says despite relative success in keeping schools open for students, they have reached a point in which they can no longer adequately staff schools due to the number of COVID-related cases and quarantines.

>>P-A Nears 500-Thousand COVID-19 Case Mark

(Harrisburg, PA) -- The state Department of Health is adding 18-thousand-646 new COVID-19 cases to the Commonwealth’s total. Those additional cases announced Monday cover the past two days since the department’s previous news release. That brings P-A to 499-thousand-764 confirmed or probable coronavirus cases since the start of the pandemic.

>>Harrisburg City Council Approving Next Year's Budget

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Harrisburg City Council is approving next year's budget. City council members accepted the new budget yesterday evening in a special legislative session. The 2021 city budget is also creating a new Community Services Division for the police force. About 18 jobs will be created with the new police division.

>>Lebanon Man Killed In Motorcycle Accident

(Lebanon, PA) -- A Lebanon man is dead after a motorcycle accident. The accident happened Sunday near the intersection of Tenth and Lehman streets. Police say a car hit a motorcycle and the motorcycle driver wasn't wearing a helmet. The 37-year-old man died from his injuries.

>>York County Water Company Offering Payment Assistance

(York County, PA) -- A York County water company is offering customers payment assistance. The York Water Company announced yesterday it is providing assistance to customers who are struggling to pay their bills. The company is offering to cover up to 200-dollars per year to customers who qualify for the program. Customers are being asked to visit the York Water Company's website for more information on how to apply to the program.

(York, PA) -- York police are searching for a missing teenager. Fourteen-year-old Emma Smith was last seen Sunday in the area of Fourth and Locust streets in Columbia Borough. Police say she could possibly be in danger because she is not known to be familiar with the Columbia area. Anyone with any information on the missing teen is being asked to contact 9-1-1.

>>200-Thousand-Dollar Lottery Ticket Sold In Cumberland County

(Cumberland County, PA) -- Someone in Cumberland County is going to be richer going into the holiday season. The Pennsylvania State Lottery announced yesterday that a 200-thousand-dollar winning ticket was sold at Smoker's Express in Enola. The store is going to receive 500-dollars for selling the ticket. The winner is being asked to sign the back of the winning ticket and contact the State Lottery office.
